Jaivik Krishi Abhiyan

Jaivik Krishi Abhiyan Ongoing Programme · जैविक कृषि अभियान

Helping 1,800 smallholder families move to organic vegetables, compost and farmer-run collection centres.

Vegetable farmers in Sindhuli were spending more each year on fertiliser and pesticide while getting less for their harvest. Jaivik Krishi Abhiyan helps them farm organically and sell together.

Sixty farmer field schools meet weekly through a full season. Farmers make compost and bio-pesticides, trial local varieties and keep simple farm records. Four cooperative collection centres grade and sell produce, paying farmers on the day of delivery.

Objectives

  • Train 1,800 households through 60 farmer field schools
  • Cut chemical input costs by at least 40% per household
  • Open four cooperative-run collection centres
  • Certify 600 farms under a participatory guarantee system
