Mul Pani Sanrakshan

Mul Pani Sanrakshan Ongoing Programme · मुल पानी संरक्षण

Reviving 64 drying springs through recharge ponds, contour trenches and protected spring-sheds.

Of the 212 springs surveyed in our working wards, 64 had lost more than half of their dry-season flow in ten years. For the families who depend on them, that means hours of walking for water.

Mul Pani Sanrakshan maps each spring-shed with the water user committee, then digs recharge ponds and trenches, plants the recharge area and fences it from grazing. Discharge is measured monthly and shared at ward meetings.

Objectives

  • Revive 64 springs with measured dry-season discharge gains
  • Build 900 recharge ponds and 40 km of contour trenches
  • Train 64 water user committees with maintenance funds
  • Install rainwater harvesting in 30 schools
