Monsoons are heavier and dry seasons longer. In steep villages that means landslides, washed-out terraces and failed crops. We help communities read the risks on their own slopes and act before the rains.
Communities draw hazard maps with our engineers, repair terraces using bio-engineering — grasses, bamboo and live hedges — and set up early-warning groups linked to the ward office. Local adaptation plans are budgeted by the palika.
