Forty thousand saplings planted in Kavre’s monsoon drive
Eighteen forest user groups, six schools and 900 volunteers planted native broadleaf and fodder trees across 52 hectares.
The annual Hariyo Pahad planting drive closed on Saturday with more than 40,000 seedlings in the ground across 52 hectares of hillside above Panauti and Roshi.
All seedlings were raised in the user groups’ own nurseries. Each plot now has a three-year protection plan and a survival count scheduled for Mangsir.
